This Chicago skyline photograph captures the city in a sunset view from the John Hancock, where the light turns warm and the buildings feel almost sculpted.

I photographed this as the sun started to fall behind the skyline, waiting for that short window when the city shifts from bright daylight into soft, cinematic warmth. I snuck under a table with my camera resting on the window so no one would get in my way. The view changes by the minute, and the final image is that exact balance point where the light feels gentle but the city still looks sharp.
