The Wendella

A Wendella boat rests at the river's edge as passengers fill its open deck, with the DuSable Bridge behind it, the Wrigley Building along the left, and Tribune Tower's Gothic crown set against a heavy summer sky.
Wendella has carried visitors and Chicagoans along the river since 1935, one of the earliest tour boats and water taxis on the water. I made this photograph handheld from Wacker Drive, working quickly to bring the boat, the bridge, and the two towers together in a single frame.
