Oriel Staircase, atop the Light Court
Photographed from the twelfth floor, this view looks straight down through the Rookery Building's Oriel Staircase. Repeating steps, curved railings, and stacked arches pull the eye deep into the structure, while daylight from the Light Court softens the windows beyond.
A super-wide lens held the full scene in one frame, including the railing inches from the camera, adding one more layer to an image already filled with depth.
